Jo was born in Liverpool, UK and has been involved in the creative arts and learning fields for many years. She works in a range of media and has exhibited nationally and internationally. 

Jo was previously the Curator of the Egg Space Gallery, was involved with the International Arts Group Transvoyeur, Red Dot Exhibitions and has had various other associations and collaborations nationally and internationally.  

Her work is in the permanent collection at the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen Hospital NHS Trust in Liverpool, UK, which was  seen on the BBC's  Your Paintings.   Your Paintings was a joint initiative between the BBC and the Public Catalogue Foundation, now known as artuk.org ,  which is home for every public art collection in the UK. 

She has presented a series of live art interventions and combined arts initiatives titled ‘When the City Speaks' and the ‘Loft Space’ from 2007 to 2008 providing a platform for other artists, writers and performers. A book by the Poet Andrew Taylor called ‘Temporary Residence’ (Erbacce Press 2007, ISBN 978-0-9555754-3-3), was written whilst Jo hosted the Loft Space project.

Jo has trained and worked professionally within the Civil Service, Local Government, Social Care, Built Environment, Housing and Health and Safety Sectors, and is an active Trade Unionist in the training and learning field.  Through  all this, she has had the opportunity to provide art workshops and classes to children, adults, ex offenders, mental health, elderly and various community groups.
